I love watercolor painting, but I haven't done anythings recently. In fact, I haven't been very inspired to do any sort of art recently, which stinks. But I was bored yesterday and so I started sketching out some random ideas, and then one of them turned out really well! And it inspired me to get... Continue Reading →
Peacock Earrings Fit for a Princess
I was randomly inspired by the Disney Princess Jasmine to make some cool teal and gold statement earrings*. I didn't exactly have teal jewelry supplies, but I did have some fantastic large green aluminum scales, and some super-shiny small gold ones. These type of scales are what people use to make scale-maille armor-- or cool jewelry! And just the other day I had experimented with marbled nail polish. I didn't like it on my nails, but realized it could be perfect for this project!

Snow Day
After only two days back at school, the university cancelled classes due to the below freezing temperatures. It was -3°F today, with a wind chill that dropped it to -26°! I was so thankful that I didn't have to brave that weather at 8 in the morning. Instead of going to class, I spent the... Continue Reading →
Winter Break Blues and a Tide Pool Tin
I made a decorative metal tin to store my pencil sharpener and erasers in. I used an empty Altoids tin and decorated the top with Sculpey. Inside, I made a small compartment to separate my sharpener from the erasers. A pretty tin keeps everything in one place, prevents my erasers from collecting bits of lint, dust, and pencil fragments, and is fun to look at!

Here are just a few of my favorite things: Sewing I've been sewing since I was a little girl. It started out... Continue Reading →
